The region has some exceptional high-quality health care institutions including the Susquehanna Health System, Lewistown Hospital, Evangelical Community Hospital, Sunbury Community Hospital, Lock Haven Hospital, and the Geisinger Medical Center. The Geisinger Center is one of the nation’s premier medical research institutions. Susquehanna Health System was recently named one of America’s “Top 100 Integrated Healthcare Networks” by Modern Healthcare Magazine, and also won the Global 1999 Best Practice Award by Arthur Anderson in the category of Exceeding Customer Expectations.
